OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Legislature has approved a measure to recognize March 30 in honor of Vietnam Veterans.
The Senate unanimously passed the bill Monday. The House unanimously passed the measure last month. The bill makes March 30 “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day.” While not recognized as a legal holiday, public entities will be required to fly the Prisoner of War and Missing in Action flag on that date.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Norm Johnson, R-Yakima, now goes to Gov. Jay Inslee for his signature.
