On Magazine, as faithful readers know, rolls off the printing press every Thursday and is quickly made available in copies of the Yakima Herald-Republic and at multiple fine retailers.

Here’s a look ahead at the edition coming out this Thursday.

The Indoorsman offers sage advice for those who may be suffering from post-Super Bowl depression, a malady known to strike following a single given Sunday every year. Here’s a snippet:

“If you’re a football fan, that means you have to find a new justification for drinking on weekend mornings, but it also means you now have a lot more free time. That can be great if you’re into gardening or hiking or volunteering down at the youth center. But free time can be daunting if you’re a lazy man-boy who relies on football to fill your days and sate your lust for televised violence. Well, I have been there, and I am here to help.”

In other On Magazine action, the Herald-Republic’s resident food writer, copy editor Savannah Tranchell, travels to Ellensburg for a taste of Rodeo City BBQ; Dear Crabby explores the crucial topic of movie theater etiquette; and movie man Ryan Messer takes a look at “I Love You To Death.”

On Magazine lead writer Pat Muir is on vacation this week, but he still wants to hear from his legions of faithful readers, especially if you have questions for the Dear Crabby “advice” column: pmuir@yakimaherald.com.
