Well, it’s the end of the year and On magazine, like every other magazine, is doing a whole bunch of end-of-the-year stuff.
Last week, we ran my local best-of list, and this week we’re going global, covering all the best of the year’s TV, movies, music and books.
As always, we’ve got an Indoorsman column. This week it’s the annual New Year’s resolutions edition. Here’s an example: “I won’t fight my friends at drunken parties, even if they’re really just begging for it — you know, by, like, being there and looking all stupid.”
And we’ve got a Dear Crabby column, in which I give bad advice to a dedicated fan who sent me an actual, physical letter. The envelope had a Danny Thomas stamp, which was frankly kind of adorable.
We’ve also got On magazine cult-movie correspondent Ryan Messer on “Saving Silverman.” He starts the column by saying, “Who doesn’t seriously dig Neil Diamond?” This is a shaky premise, seeing as Neil Diamond is terrible. But I like Messer, so I let it go without even adding an editor’s note.
Check out all that and more in this week’s On magazine, tucked cozily into Thursday’s Yakima Herald-Republic.
And if you have a minute, send me a Dear Crabby question at pmuir@yakimaherald.com; I’m just about out.
