Blaine Bennett has interviewed for the head football coaching job at Idaho, and is waiting along with four other finalists to see who gets hired.

The Central Washington coach said Thursday that he met with Vandals athletic director Rob Spear and the university’s hiring committee on Wednesday.

“I think I was the fourth person they interviewed,” Bennett said. “I thought it went well.”

Bennett, 41-16 over five seasons at CWU, said Spear gave no indication as to when a decision might be made.

Other finalists are said to be current Wyoming assistant and former Idaho head coach Chris Tormey, San Jose State offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren, Arkansas offensive coordinator Paul Petrino and current UI interim coach Jason Gesser.

A Vandals assistant, Gesser took over when Robb Akey was fired last season.
