YAKIMA, Wash. — If you haven’t made it out to downtown Yakima’s two new outdoor concert series yet, you have a couple of chances to fix that today and Friday.
The third edition of Downtown Summer Nights gets underway at 5 p.m. today, with this week’s band, Village (aka The Village Musicians), hitting the stage a little after that. The band, a trio of Yakima brothers and a friend of theirs on drums, play a really nice brand of pop-rock that has picked up a funky edge over the past couple of years.
Downtown Summer Nights concerts are on Fourth Street, right next to the 4th Street Theatre every Thursday evening (except next week, because of the holiday) through August. Admission is free.
And on Friday, the Lunchtime Live series at Performance Park gives us the local acoustic rock duo The Deadbeat Drag. Those shows, which are a boost of energy to finish off the work week, start at 11:45 a.m. and go till 1:15 p.m. every Friday through August. They are also free.
