Jumping Sharks and ReVoLtReVoLt are good rock bands, and I suggest you go see them.

Their show at Bill’s Place on Friday this week’s On Blog pick of the week. It’s free, which is nice, but it would be worth it even if there was a cover charge. Jumping Sharks play a crazy brand of psychedelic garage-prog that smartly avoids jam-band noodling and ought to appeal to fans of The Flaming Lips. ReVoLtReVoLt is a bit punchier and more musically straightforward. They do an updated kind of 1990s alternative thing that to my ear sounds kind of like The Pixies or Built To Spill.

The show starts at 8 p.m. Bill’s is at 206 S. Third Ave. For information, visit www.revoltrevoltmusic.com, www.reverbnation.com/jumpingsharks or www.facebook.com/billsplacetav or call 509-575-9513.
