When my husband proposed to me, he did it via candelight and cream-filled puff-pastries, with chocolate frosting. They were delicious. We don’t eat a lot of puff-pastries, but we smile at each other knowingly every time we do.
There’s a lot of love in that little pastry.
I love hearing people’s food-love stories. Maybe a significant other buried a ring in a dessert, or a cocktail. Or maybe your loved one know the key to your heart truly is in your stomach and went all out to win your affection. (I once snagged a boyfriend by making him an apple pie.)
Now that it’s January, the stores — and we here at Appetite — are moving on to the next holiday: Valentine’s Day. Gentlemen, you have only 44 days to get it right. No pressure.
