I absolutely live for February. I think it’s my favorite month. It’s not Valentine’s Day, the return of NASCAR or even the dwindling days of winter that get my blood pumping, though: It’s Girl Scout Cookies.
The day I get the news release from the Girl Scouts of America announcing sales are starting is always a good day.
That day was Monday.
This weekend, Feb. 7-8, is National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend. You can place your pre-orders for everyone’s favorite cookies between Feb. 7 and March 20. Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Do-Si-Dos and Savannah Smiles are still just $4 a box.
“The girls are the experts about Girl Scout cookies and they want their customers to ask them questions about their goals, the different cookie types and what they or their troop will be doing with their cookie earnings (called cookie dough),” Kelly Thompson, product sales manager for Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho, said in a news release.
If you don’t personally know any Girl Scouts and wan t to make sure you secure your boxes, you can call 800-827-9478 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to get connected with a Scout in your area. Or you can head to www.gsewni.org/cookies and use the cookie locator.
Cookies will be delivered after March 21. That’s also when booths will begin appearing at local grocers. You’ll be able to buy cookies at various booths through April 13. A schedule of booth appearances will be put up online closer to delivery.
