I can’t do tequila anymore. One bad night in college that turned into a salt-lime-and-tequila soaked blur is all it took. The memory itself is fuzzy, but the smell of that stuff brings it back fast enough that it makes me a little nauseated.
So I won’t be heading over to Xochimilco’s new tequila bar in Glenwood Square, 5110 Tieton Drive, Suite 270, in Yakima. The new space boasts more than 60 tequilas and more than 10 types of margaritas, all made with hand-squeezed juice.
You can even get tequila flights to learn about the diversity of the liquor.
My tummy hurts just thinking about it.
But if tequila’s your thing, you better check it out.
If the name is familiar, that’s because the restaurant already has a location at 2304 W. Nob Hill Boulevard (Read Pat Muir’s On the Menu review of the spot here).
They opened the original spot in March 2008, according to our business reporter, and wanted a second location to draw more West Valley residents. The menu features food from the Oaxaca region of Mexico.
On second thought, maybe I will go. My husband loves margaritas, and I love Mexican food. Maybe I can be his designated driver.
The new space is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Sunday. For info call 509-966-9000.
